I first see a pelican and a wooden post in the center of the photograph. My eye is led to the beak, since the color is different from the others of the piece. I then see the background, the blurred palm and sky.

I enjoy the wooden post, the grain and color give contrast to the bird's white feathers, and it somewhat matches the black/brown of the bird's back. I also enjoy the background, the bright yellow and blue shining through the palm gives the photograph a light tone and a happy feeling.

I feel like the bird and post could have been better positioned in the frame. Although not badly positioned, the thing I see after I see the beak is the butt, and that is not exactly what I enjoy to look at when I see birds.

I also feel like the photograph could have been taken from the side nearer to the front of the bird, giving a better view of the face/beak.

Overall I enjoy the piece, although the angle detracts from the focus. The background is done well and the wooden post is a good contrasting color to the bird.

Excellent focus. My eyes go straight to the pelican. He looks so clean. And I love the detail on his wing. And his end goes so far off to the side it looks like he should fall ahahaha. :XD:

You've had problems with a pelican? That sounds fascinating. Do tell.
